Television and computer screens, cell phones, and other distractions have led to behavior—for instance trying to pay for something while jabbering away on a cell phone—that has required a new set of new-speak terms that are hard to describe. It is sometimes called multitasking but in many cases this is just a euphemism for being rude.

I must admit that it is very distracting to speak to someone who is wearing a bluetooth ear piece. I wonder if any incoming call they might receive is more important than the conversation they are currently having. Of course, I walk around with an ear bud in one ear (but I do remove it when actually talking with others)
